Continuing with the discussion of  latest offerings from Google Searchology 2009, the discussion today is centred around Google Search Options.

Google Search Options is a useful feature that lets you refine your search results using various options. If you do a search for digital cameras on Google, just above the search results, you can see a link Show Options

When you click on Show Options, you get the following screen

The new options on the left column help you refine the results by different categories. You can get results for a specific period of time. To achieve this, you had to go to Google Advanced Search and select the time period.  Search Options makes life easy, that is for sure.

You can get more image results and results with extra descriptions. You are literally a power searcher with such tools at your command.

You can sort by forums and user reviews. When searched by reviews, if your web pages have sentiments expressed by users, Google can use sentiment analysis to list them as the description for your site description.

A really slick tool is the Wonder Wheel. This is an awesome tool that lets you explore keywords. When you click on Wonder Wheel, you get the results for digital cameras. You click again on digital slr cameras and this gives more keywords related to digital slr cameras. All these happen in real time. This is a fantastic tool to explore new ideas in a given field.
